According to information provided by the University of Virginia Police Department, a report of a potential threat was received at 3:00 p.m. In response, university officials immediately alerted the community by sending out a "RUN, HIDE, FIGHT" warning.

Police quickly arrived on the scene and began an investigation. However, at 3:34 p.m., the university issued another statement saying that no evidence had yet been found to confirm the presence of the attacker.

Despite the lack of evidence of a threat, university authorities appealed to students and staff to remain vigilant. In the following hours, messages were repeated about the need to adhere to the "run, hide, fight" guidelines.

University spokeswoman Bethanie Glover said campus buildings have been placed on lockdown, with entry restricted to keycards. "At this time, authorities have not found any evidence of an active shooter, but security procedures remain in place," Glover said.
